Board, Vijayawada, F.No.E1/21/2016-AP, dated: 15.06.2026.

ORDER:
In the G.O. first read above, Government have issued orders declaring 16.06.2026 (Tuesday) as Optional Holiday on the occasion of Moharram (1447 Hijri) and 25.06.2026 (Thursday) as General Holiday on the occasion of Moharram (Shahadat Imam Hussian RA, 1447 Hijri), for the year 2026.
2. In the letter 2nd read above, the Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board, Vijayawada, has informed that the 9th Moharram is expected on 25.06.2026 and 10th Moharram on 26.06.2026, as per moon citing (Lunar Calendar)
Hence, the Optional Holiday on 25.06.2026 and Public Holiday on 26.06.2026 are to be declared instead of 16.06.2026 (Optional Holiday) and 25.06.2026 (Public Holiday) specified in the Government Calendar and requested to declare the Optional Holiday on 25.06.2026 and Public Holiday on 26.06.2026 instead of 16.06.2026 (Optional Holiday) and 25.06.2026 (Public Holiday).
3. Government, after careful consideration of the matter, have decided to change the Optional Holiday on the occasion of 9th Moharram to 25.06.2026 (Thursday) instead of 16.06.2026 (Tuesday) and General Holiday on the occasion of 10th Moharram to 26.06.2026 (Friday) instead of 25.06.2026 (Thursday). Accordingly, the following notification shall be published in the Extra-ordinary Gazette of Andhra Pradesh State:-
NOTIFICATION
In partial modification of the orders issued in G.O.Rt.No.2276, G.A(Poll.B) Department, dated:04.12.2026, notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays for the year 2026, the Government hereby declare 25.06.2026 (Thursday) as Optional Holiday on the occasion of 9th Moharram instead of 16.06.2026 (Tuesday) and 26.06.2026 (Friday) as General Holiday on the occasion of 10th Moharram instead of 25.06.2026 (Thursday).
